Mother's Day: A Q&A With Our Founder, Fabienne
Mother's Day is a day to celebrate the love, dedication, and sacrifice that mothers make every day. It's a time to show gratitude for all the hard work and devotion that goes into being a mother. But it's also a time to reflect on the experience of motherhood itself: the highs, the lows, and everything in between.
In celebration of Mother's Day, we sat down with a few key women who inspire us as both Mothers and business women. Today we sat down with our founder Fabienne and asked her a few questions about their Motherhood journey so far.
How has your relationship with your own mother influenced the mother that you have become?
I feel like my own Mother passed a Veil of Motherhood to me, & I wear it daily now that I am a Mamma. My Mum was a single Mum & raised my older sister & me all by herself, & which now being a Mother myself I realise how much sacrifice this took her & admire her greatly. And despite this, was so caring present & loving, so this how I aim to show up daily to my daughter Season.
If you could go back and give yourself as a new mum one piece of advice, what would you say?
Go gentle, sweet Mamma. Every moment, though challenging in the depth of it, eases & changes so rapidly that you will miss it all so be present & try not to wish any moment away.
How do you give back to yourself daily?
I am very good at prioritising myself (#tauruslife), because if I am not functioning at my optimum I cannot be the loving Mother, partner, daughter, sister, leader & friend I always strive to be. I exercise 3 times a week, & take myself on a date weekly. My partner & I are very good at communicating this too, so we're both on the same page.
What's your number one mum hack?
Nothing revolutionary really, but snacks & boobs 😂
How has motherhood changed how you think about your personal style?
I am breastfeeding Season, so I need to wear something that I can easily feed her in. And apart from that, I haven't changed my style & still wear a whole lot of silk which isn't ideal with a grubby-mitted 10 month old.
