Rings crafted in 14k gold vermeil, mean a thick layer of 14k gold (2.5 micron) plated over a solid 925 sterling silver base, with an added coating layer. Gold vermeil offers the look of solid gold at a more accessible price point, however it does require mindful wear and care, especially for rings.
Rings are considered a high-traffic jewellery item. Hands are constantly in contact with surfaces, water, soaps, creams and friction, all of which can accelerate wear over time.
Please note the following before purchasing:
- This ring must be removed when washing your hands, showering, swimming or cleaning
- Do not apply hand creams, sanitiser, perfume or lotions while wearing the ring
- Be mindful that stacking rings together can cause scratching and friction, which may wear down the e-coating faster
- Daily wear, impact against hard surfaces and repeated rubbing can gradually wear the gold layer
- Over time, and with frequent wear, the gold may slowly wear to reveal the sterling silver underneath, this is a natural characteristic of gold vermeil and is not considered a fault
