Moissanite Vs. Diamond
Our 2018 ceremonial collection Hand in Hand has launched & we could not be more excited. This collection was many months in the making, ensuring the look, style, feel & quaility was exactly what we had envisioned. This collection is comprised of 15 engagement, wedding & eternity rings.
Here at YCL we do not use diamonds within our designs, instead we make it our mission to find stones that are more sustainable for our planet. Moissanite is the main stone we chose to incorporate within our HIH designs, & we wanted to break down the difference between moissanite & diamonds for those whom were curious.

Moissanite relfects light beautifully and is actually more brilliant than a diamond. Moissanite refracts light in a way that creates a 'rainbow effect & t he larger the stone, more noticeable. Moissanite has a refractive index from 2.65 – 2.69, which is higher than a diamond |
Diamonds reflect light in three different ways, white light referred to as brilliance, rainbow of colors refracted referred to as dispersion & the surface sparkle is known as scintillation, is a third type of diamond light return |

The cost of moissanite stones do vary depending on size, cut & carat however typically cost far less than diamonds. |
Diamonds can usually be founds at a much higher price point than moissanite. |
