Rings crafted in 14k gold vermeil, mean a thick layer of 14k gold (2.5 micron) plated over a solid 925 sterling silver base, with an added coating layer. Gold vermeil offers the look of solid gold at a more accessible price point, however it does require mindful wear and care, especially for rings.
Rings are considered a high-traffic jewellery item. Hands are constantly in contact with surfaces, water, soaps, creams and friction, all of which can accelerate wear over time.
Please note the following before purchasing:
- This ring must be removed when washing your hands, showering, swimming or cleaning
- Do not apply hand creams, sanitiser, perfume or lotions while wearing the ring
- Be mindful that stacking rings together can cause scratching and friction, which may wear down the e-coating faster
- Daily wear, impact against hard surfaces and repeated rubbing can gradually wear the gold layer
- Over time, and with frequent wear, the gold may slowly wear to reveal the sterling silver underneath, this is a natural characteristic of gold vermeil and is not considered a fault

Initial is nothing like shown. Not centred and off sided. Also TINY compared to what is advertised. Not impressed at all.
I was gifted a ring for Christmas and it turned brassy within two weeks, despite being described as 14k gold vermeil (2.5 micron) on a 925 sterling silver base and marketed as suitable for daily wear.
YCL confirmed in writing that this level of deterioration within weeks is considered
"expected" and refused a replacement or refund.
Completely unacceptable quality and a very disappointing outcome.

Received this ring as a present, worn for a week (taken off during showers and water) has already started to tarnish.
This ring is stunning!! Very special to me, the way the A initial is written is how my Mum & my grandparents taught me to write my A’s when I was very young. I received this for a late Christmas gift, arrived early Feb, been wearing it for about 3 weeks and the gold has completely come off and is copper/orange, definitely not silver with gold plating as described. Cheap metal plated with “gold” and an expensive real gold pricing. Extremely disappointed and my partner is very let down on a special + thoughtful gift.

Had my eye on this ring for a while and got it gifted to me for Christmas but within 3 weeks the ring started to lose its gold colour, turning quite silver/ copper very quickly. Really disappointing as it isn’t cheap and is advertised as an “heirloom piece” so you would expect it to last a lifetime. Wouldn’t buy from YCL again unfortunately..
