The Meanings // Crystals Used Within Our Latest Collection Crystal Visions
Crystals, gemstones, stones, gifts from the Earth. YCL's CEO + Creative Director Fabienne has been studying, working with & using crystals within per personal life since she was 9 years old. It all started with the amethyst tumble stone she stole from her older sister, ever since then, crystals have played a very important role within Fabienne's life; & now within her life's work.
When YCL was first founded, in July of 2013 (we're nearly 4 years old!) Fabienne knew that she wanted to design jewellery for reasons other than just aesthetic purpose, look & feel. And in turn, YCL Jewels (which stands for Your Core Light) was born. And even though our design style changed quite a bit after two years (which if you feel like scrolling back through our Instagram you will see), the principles & values of YCL's treasures have always remained the same. That is, to create jewellery that holds intention, is timeless & will inspire our #YCLWomen to embrace all that they are.
Our brand new collection Crystal Visions focuses on garnet, which is deep burgundy in colour & happens to be a favourite for Fabienne, & rhodolite, which is a soft, deep purple.
GARNET
Garnet has been a favourite of Fabienne's for quite some time, hence why is YCL's signature stone used at the end of all out extender chains. The colour is so feminine, strong & bold, & the properties are just as powerful.
Garnet promotes balance and stability in your life, enhances personal power, creates overall health and wellbeing, encourages you to connect to your sensuality, and teaches you to trust and believe in yourself.
RHODOLITE
This is a brand new stone, not only to YCL designs, but this is also the first time Fabienne as ever worked with this captivating stone. When designing Crystal Visions, Fabienne was searching for a hue of purple that deep, rich in colour, & when she found rhodolite she was taken not only by the look of the stone but also by it's soft, healing metaphysical properties.
This stone is from the garnet family, & it encourages love, kindness, compassion, whilst promoting self-worth & spiritual growth. It is also aids in healing emotional trauma from abuse, guilt & shame, & promotes healthy sexuality.
