We are asked often how is the best way our #YCLWomen can care for their treasures, so we thought we would write a post outlining some key ways you can look after your jewellery. It is first important to note that jewellery can wear different on every indivdual, depending on your own body oils, sweat & the acidity of ones skin. This post refers to YCL treaures specifically, & the metals we use, this exlcludes any micron plated items.

Overall Care

Beach: Wearing your jewellery at the beach is always a tricky one, as strong waves could damage your items or you could lose your pieces in sand (been there!). In terms of the salt, we would reccomend giving your jewellery a rinse in fresh water so the salt doesn't sick to the item.

Sleep: This is personal preference & what you're comfortable with. Most of #TeamYCL sleep with certain treaures on & others not. Fabienne, YCL's CEO never takes her Constellation Choker off, & slept with her Full Bloom earrings in for nearly one whole year. This the choice of the customer & is worn sleep at ones own risk.

Physical Activty: We reccomend always taking any jewellery off for any form of physical excersise.

Shower: We suggest always removing your jewels before showering, be mindful that if you are using a highly-fragrant & toxic shower gel/shampoo/conditioner that this could affect the wear of your piece. 

Chlorine: We would reccomend taking all jewellery off before entering a chlorine pool.

Perfume: We do not reccomend spraying perfume directly onto your neck when wearing necklaces, perfume is extremely toxic & acidic, & could affect the wear of jewellery.

Cleaning: We reccomend cleaning your treaures by gently wiping them down with a jewellery cleaning cloth.

Storage: Store your peices inside your YCL box & pouches when not wearing them or hang them up on a jewellery stand.
