How To: Paint a Table Runner

A few weeks ago, I celebrated one of my Leo friends birthdays at her home. It was such a beautiful afternoon at sunset. Her table setting (which we all know I am a lover of a good table setting) included a painted table cloth, it was so festive! So, I went home & felt completely inspired to paint my own. I only had enough fabric for a table runner. However, this How-To can be used to paint either a table runner or table cloth.
What You'll Need:
Piece of white/cream fabric, I used calico.
Acrylic paints
Paint Brushes

Where to Start:
I chose a piece of calico fabric as it is cost effective, easy to find & is light in colour so the paint shows up easily.
I then drew in pencil the patterns I wanted on the runner. If you follow me on my personal IG you will know I am obsessed with all things fruit, so I decided to celebrate Spring & paint a fruity table runner. If you are stuck on ideas, check out some art on Pinterest for inspiration!
Find a piece of cardboard to place under the fabric, as the paint will leech through. Choose the colour pallet that you feel aligns with the creative approach, & paint away! I did a few coats on each piece of fruit, so the colour was very pigmented & vibrant. Let your runner dry in the sun & then enjoy! Don't forget to tag us in your table runner photos on Instagram so we can see what you have created!
